Part 1: Potential WR`s

Professional football is a vertical game, one where having an explosive passing game separates the elite from the rest. To that end, a diverse, talented and competitive stable of wide receivers is essential. This group must bring a dynamic element to the Philadelphia Stars offense that will provide match up issues for defenses and open up other facets of the offense. Finally, any wide receiver in the Philadelphia Stars offense must be able to win in any one-on-one situation, especially in the red zone.

This will be part 1, we will come back with part 2 of this article tomorrow, which will also feature the potential tight end for the Philadelphia Stars.

The first wide receiver the Stars should target is current Saskatchewan Roughriders WR and Auburn Tiger Duke Williams. A former 5-star recruit, Williams would begin his career with the Los Angeles Rams signing as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and has made a few fruitful stops across both the NFL and CFL, including a 2018 CFL All Star season in which he led the league in receiving yards as a member of the Edmonton Eskimos. Williams would begin his career with the Los Angeles Rams, He would come back stateside and spend both `19 and `20 as a member of two playoff teams with the Buffalo Bills, helping the team to an AFC East title in 2020.

The next potential Stars wideout is Arizona Cardinals WR Andy Isabella. Isabella has been on the cardinals' roster since 2019, when he was drafted 62nd overall in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. Isabella posted an electric 4.3 40-yard dash time at the 2019 combine, making him the third fastest time at the combine that year. Isabella was also a consensus All- American at UMASS in 2018, as well as being named a Biletnikoff Award Semifinalist, as one of the nations to pass catchers. Isabella has seen more action as of late, posting four catches for 47 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, he certainly could be someone looking for a new home if the Cardinals don't feel his production has matched his second-round draft selection. Finally, a fun fact about Andy Isabella, he beat Browns CB and former Ohio St. legend Denzel Ward in the Ohio High School State Track Championships in the 100-meter dash.

Both these players provide mismatches, and both possess a dynamic playmaking ability needed to ignite the star's offense. An explosive offense is important to not only winning games, but to keeping a very passionate Philadelphia sports fanbase engaged and interested during the usually crowded spring Philly sports schedule.
