USFL Partnering with broadcast giants to produce the league`s version of “Hard Knocks”

Last week the USFL announced that it would be partnering with NFL Films and Fox Sports to produce a 13 episode, behind the scenes docu-series that will give USFL fans an in-depth look into the revived spring league.  The series looks to chronicle “the fascinating athlete personalities and the unique circumstances they find themselves in, as they pursue their dreams in a new spring football league.” This quote comes directly from the press release out of the USFL league office, and it serves to provide fans a telling glimpse of what the goal of the show is.

The goal of this show seems to be, when one puts 2 and 2 together, to make the USFL`s version of “Hard Knocks”, HBO`s annual NFL docu-series about a selected team`s training camp. If that is the goal, then the USFL is partnered with the right people. NFL Films and Fox Sports have long been innovators of not just producing and documenting a football game, but producing and documenting sports.

This is yet another prudent move by the league, right out of the NFL playbook. This docu-series is yet another way in which the USFL is looking to provide more cutting edge content for the fan.
